As spring moves into warmer weather the colors of spring begin to change.

In this series, I have  Lavender Azalea, tulip magnolia (also known as 'Cup and Saucer'
magnolia'), Daisy Butterfly,  Forsythia, and Coral Rose.

Each of these are rendered in watercolor and what fun it was to see the shapes and colors
come to life on the previously totally blank paper!

Note cards and signed and numbered prints are available.
Spring Beauties  Series C
Welcome to the COLORS OF THE SEASONS from Jean Skelton Original Art!
'Cup and Saucer'

This tulip magnolia blossom was inspired by an article in a recent magazine.  These trees are found
all over this area of North Carolina and it was not difficult to find a blossom near enough to the
ground for me to reach.  In watercolor.
'Lavender Azalea'

The lavender azaleas at my house this spring were beautiful, bountiful and awesome.  So here is a
watercolor rendition of one of the predictable comforts of spring.
'Forsythia'

Even earlier than those daffodils,  I had the drawing ready from the 'yellow bells' in my yard.  Just
finished this in watercolor.
'Daisy Butterfly'

A yellow daisy?  Yes!  These were actually sketches of the usual white daisy but somehow
became brilliant yellow as the watercolor painting progressed.  Then of course it needed a
butterfly, had a heck of a time convincing that little creature to be still long enough to
draw....wink, wink.

'Coral Rose'
Coral roses are among my favorites.  This watercolor is a variation of the painting of the
yellow roses created earlier.
