One of the stunning blossoms of summer is the Southern Magnolia. The trees
are stately, the leaves shiny and the blossoms large, showy, and elegant.

A couple of my grandchildren helped to find some magnolias near their house. This

This magnificent magnolia held its bud tightly overnight and began opening early the
next day. And it opened so quickly that I could almost see it change as I was sketching!

'Magnolia Fay 2'
I was so pleased with Fay 1, and the magnolia blossoms grow all the way to the top of
the tree. So I tried to put a sky blue background with a slightly different angle. And
I like it! In watercolor.
