Written by Gina Berini Smudski for JSO.  Thanks, Gina!
Dear __________,

I so enjoyed opening the package you sent for my
birthday (or whatever the occasion was/is). Most of my
mail is usually bills or junk and your package was such a
surprise. Thank you for the __________________. Each
time I use it, I will always think of you. The ________ is
currently sitting on my ___________________ for all to
see. I can’t thank you enough for thinking of me and
making me feel so very special.

With appreciation,

Dear__________,

What a wonderful time I had with you today. Our trip to
______, (or our time on my porch, our time in the mall,
etc) was so enjoyable. I can’t believe how seeing you
again was so comfortable almost as if ____________ years
had not passed in between our seeing each other.
Laughing with you made me feel so young again and I just
wanted you to know how much I appreciated you sharing
your time with me.

I hope we can get together real soon!!

Great sharing with you,

Dear _____________,

For the past several days I have not been able to get you
off of my mind. I don’t know what you are going
through, if anything, but I wanted you to know I have
been thinking of you and keeping you in prayer. If there
is anything you need, or just need to talk, know I am here
for you. You are very special to me and I hope all is going
well in all you are doing.

Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers,

_______________
Dear__________,

I drove by your house yesterday on my way to work and
noticed how beautiful the flowers in your yard were. It
made me smile to see such beauty and to know that you
spent time planting all your flowers. You have such a gift
with things you plant and grow and I wish I had that. I
thought about all the times we have shared together and
wanted you to know I was thinking of you.

I hope you and your family are doing well and that things
are pretty “normal” in your world.

Smiling at the thought of your flowers and the happiness
you give to all who see your yard!!

understanding; but they also were such a great example of

I can’t begin to express how grateful we all were to have
your _______________ for dinner. You were so kind to
take the time out of your schedule to be concerned about
our physical strength during _________________’s illness.
Everything has been such a mad rush that we haven’t
thought much about home cooking until we had your
wonderful meal. Everything was absolutely delicious and
even ___________ (name of the sick person) enjoyed each

and spiritual strength as we face the days ahead.
